We, as a society, or any Westernized culture for that matter can no longer afford abortion as a means of birth control or eugenics. (Babies with anomalies such as cleft palate, diabetes, down syndrome or other known defects)

It's not a viable option any longer. We are too short on babies and our pyramid of live births to replace an aging population is beginning to invert. South Korea has a fully inverted pyramid. Their society will become completely dysfunctional in 20 years and in 50 completely evaporate away into non-existence.

Unless we wish the same....we need babies. Lots of babies and children and soon. It's either that or we have to continue to have practically unregulated/undocumented immigration to support our society.

At this point it is an either/or.

Prior to the development of a brain, it isn't murder, since it lacks a consciousness.

I would say that her "life wasn't saved". During the zygote stage, I would merely say that she did not exist, and came into existence at some point later during the pregnancy.

So if her mom had had an abortion during an early stage of the pregnancy, she wouldn't have been killed, she simply would have never existed. And the same would be true if her mother had used birth control or became a nun, but, of course, we wouldn't call that murder.
