If you thought the hosts of The View would be celebrating over Tucker Carlson's dramatic exit from the Republican party, well, they were not.
On Tuesday's (June 23) episode, all of the hosts took turns slamming the former Fox News primetimer for announcing his departure from the party because of
Donald Trump's war in Iran, calling it "immoral" on a podcast.
Joy Behar was first up, saying, "The people in his party are ⌠very disappointed. Trump goes out a few years ago and says, 'no more interventions,' and then he's in the middle of an intervention. He says prices have to come down, and prices are going up, and inflation is rising."
Then, it was Alyssa Farah Griffin's turn. "I'm all for people evolving on viewpoints," she said. "This is a little different than Bill Cassidy, Thom Tillis, John Cornyn, these die-hard Republicans who have seen enough of Trump and are now speaking out against him. Both Marjorie Taylor Green and Tucker Carlson ⌠really pointed out the reason they're breaking with Trump. Yes, the war, but they say because Israel ..." Griffin then went on to challenge Carlson and his ilk by demanding, "Don't point to Israel or point to JD Vance. It's Donald Trump you have a problem with, and say it with your full chest."
Sara Haines agreed, adding, "And you also voted for him, knowing he had a massive ego and is possibly a certified narcissist. The reason Donald Trump went into Iran was not for Israel. It's because he has a massive ego."
Sunny Hostin then criticized Carlson for supporting Trump in the past, "in spite of the fact that, in my view, he is a racist, he is a homophobe, he is a malignant narcissist, he's an anti-Semite. [Carlson] was OK with all of those things."
Griffin then predicted, "Tucker Carlson is going to be back with Republicans as soon as there's another election, and he's going to appear on stage. He's going to follow where the money is."
Whoopi Goldberg also agreed, saying, "When you support this president, it's problematic, and you knew it's problematic. You knew who he was when he came in. He said what he was going to do."
Griffin took another jab at Carlson before the segment was finished, saying, "I do think he's one of these folks who goes where the wind blows," citing his condemnation of the January 6th riot and later aboutface on the issue.

Both Marjorie Taylor Greene and Tucker Carlson publicly renounced their support of the Republican party this week, but the hosts of âThe Viewâ are skeptical about their reasonings. According to Alyssa Farah Griffin, itâs a âcop-outâ to split with Trump solely because they believe he was manipulated into the war with Iran.
Discussing the topic on Tuesday morning, Farah Griffin noted that sheâs âall for people evolving on viewpoints,â and that âchanging your mind can be a good thing,â but pointed out that both Greene and Carlson specifically named Israelâs influence on American politics as their breaking point, and said that âIsrael is controlling this president.â
âAnd Iâm sorry, thatâs a cop-out to me,â Farah Griffin said. âYou voted for this man, you campaigned for this man, you put all your faith into this man. So now youâre telling me he doesnât have a backbone enough to make his own decisions?â
âIt reminds me kind of of Lindsey Graham coming out and saying âJD Vance owns the Iran deal.â No, just be willing to criticize the person that you voted for, who is the president in the most powerful nation on Earth,â she continued. âDonât point to Israel, donât point to JD Vance. Itâs Donald Trump you have a problem with, and say it with your full chest, because you supported him with your full chest.â
Her co-hosts readily agreed, with Sara Haines arguing that Carlson in particular needs to own up to his past support of Trump, âbecause he was not a one-issue voter.â
Meanwhile, host Joy Behar admitted that she trusts Greeneâs split more than Carlsonâs, because Greene has also been vocal in her criticisms of how the Trump administration handled the Epstein files (or rather, how they havenât released them all or helped the victims).
âTucker Carlson speaks out for Tucker Carlson,â Behar sniped.
The sentiment earned agreement from the table, with Farah Griffin predicting that Carlson will be back with Republicans by the time the next election rolls around, because he will âfollow where the money is.â
