Harris was their DEI choice for VP so they are stuck with her. Bypass her, especially for a white person, and the party caves in on itself. On top of that, there are tens of millions of dollars in campaign contributions that were donated to Biden/Harris and can only be used by either Biden or Harris. That's not chump change.
