I wouldn't take one on a street for exactly the reasons you correctly state. We have exclusively bicycle/e-bike trails here in the NW that I wouldn't hesitate to use them on, but not on a public road.I would never take an E bike outside of a bike lane on the street....
You could not see the garbage truck if it were not for strobe lights?
We had a great day here in the NW yesterday. We took a short jaunt into Canada for lunch. Beautiful, temps in the high 70s and mid 50s up high but that was only about 30 minutes. Not the point....you can easily see the garbage truck, but they still have strobes.....and those strobes are not a problem for other drivers.....so they would be even more effective for hard to see motorcycles and scooters, especially at night.
You keep getting rear-ended. Gay?I drove a bright red Jeep for years and got rear ended four times in that vehicle while at a complete stop.
If they couldn't see that with brake lights on, they sure as hell aren't seeing a safety vest on a motorcycle.
Many construction workers have died with those vests on from idiots we let on the road.
Drivers testing requirements are simply pathetic and a downright joke in every state.
