One of my goals in the next year is to save $10,000, which I will try and invest 5k into a high interest savings account and the other 5k into exchange traded funds. But with rent, bills, groceries, gas prices increasing, gym memberships, it can be quite tough to save in this economy for some people.

There's a wide range of side hustles you can explore, depending on your skills, interests, and available time. Here are some ideas, categorized for easier browsing:

  • Virtual Assistant (VA): Provide administrative, technical, or creative assistance to clients remotely.

The job market is utter crap right now, unless you're stupid enough to go into teaching.

PS I love teaching. The career is terrible right now though.

Buy stuff at yard sales and sell them at a local flea market.

I made money hand over fist like that.

I'd usually start in April and end in October. I always cleared at least $2400 a month, usually much more.....Just call it 15K a season.

It was a lot of work but I paid for near half of my current home like that over a period of five years in the late 80s/early 90s.

Then again that $15K went a whole lot farther back then than it does today as far as construction materials went.

Wow, I thought Trump was going to make everything better?

Don't think, do it.

Cattle. I have a bull and a cow that give me 1-2 calves a year. The cows get sold at 3 months, and I band the bulls into steers. The steers get sold at 2 years. I get half the meat, sell or trade the rest for eggs, chicken and pork. The processing house I use also gives me Elk that hunters don't take. Half a cow lasts me over a year.....
Sheep. I bought into a herd of Navajo sheep. I get a sheep every year, already packaged.
Weed. I grow my legal allowance all year round, next week I will harvest my indoor crop. Then I will start the plants for this years outdoor crop. I trade weed for lots of different things.
Bees. I am up to 6 hives. Honey is literally liquid gold. I get most of mine extracted by another bee-farmer who keeps 1/3 of it for the extraction fee, and sells what I don't want on consignment.
Firewood. Since it is rare here in Arizona, I have four people who I let cut juniper off my property for ten percent of the wood. I never have to cut wood myself, although I usually cut several loads myself just for the fun of it all.
Land. I allow AZ Game and Fish to use a portion of my property to rehabilitate injured or problem animals. I don't get cash, but I do get my hunt and fish license for free. I also get 'depravation' tags if I want them. Additionally, I have quail and partridge on my place because they raise them here.

It starts with land. You can't go wrong buying land.

Back when we were really strapped for cash, I was working for our local newspaper and got free classified advertising as a perk of my employment. We were in a town with district and federal courts and therefore had lots of visiting attorneys. I had some legal secretary experience so I advertised private legal secretary services. I had all the business I could handle and made very good money.

Moonlighting some little part time job for a few months is easy enough.

Get a part time job at Walmart or a gas station or something. Earn the money you need. Then quit.

Not at all.

The markets are crashing, because they see the crazy stuff Trump wants to do. That is already tricking down into the job market.

Come on, you all voted for this.
It's been an employer's job market for damn near two years but FJB was fudging the numbers and padding the rest with .gov jobs.

Hell, we had a town manager to retire and have had piles of qualified applicants vying for the job. Back when they hired the guy that's retiring, he was the only one they could find qualified to fill it.

The job market has been fine for years and still is.

I could quit my job and find another before the end of the day

Suppose the US Federal Reserve has been creating a thousand times more money than it has publicly admitted to , and that this has been going on for decades and possibly back to the 1950-60s .

This means that the American Tax Payer has been paying interest on "real debt" PLUS interest on all that illegally created debt . The "hush , hush" , debt

There are strong grounds for believing that is exactly what has been happening and that this will be revealed this summer -- say between June and August .

That will be the end of the US $ , banks , markets , property values etc . Life as you know it .
Beyond imagination for 95% of people .

Naturally Sheeplets live in a very narrow and small world and will ignore and / deny such a scenario .

I believe otherwise ( say 75 % )and have made the necessary adjustments which will be beyond huge if this is true .

You might therefore like to include a contingency plan .

Anecdotes aren't proof, guy.

The Trump Recession is coming, and it is entirely his fault.

It will be hilarious watching him fail.

Well, that’s clearly not true.

There’s still a surplus of job openings everywhere

That's what the government tells us.

Ask anyone job seeking how it's going.
