Immigration is in the Federal purview... As members of the Union, States can't have immigration rules distinct from the US Federal Government.

Which because of that, the States, historically, have just let the US Government deal with immigration, entirely; period. Which was a MASSIVE MISTAKE.

Arizona has simply, FINALLY realized, that the federal government has had no intention of enforcing it's law and has taken enforcement, within it's means, onto itself.

The fact is that if EVERY state did the same thing, we'd have very few immigration problems...

The Left, of course, is arguing that Arizona's law is 'unconstitutional'... declaring that Arizona's law violates the USC by establishing it's own, distinct immigration laws...

This is false... demonstrably, incontrovertibly false... All Arizona's law does is to enforce the existing US Federal Law.

Why should the federal government put Arizona first? Sounds to me like Arizona is going to fill their jails up with people that have committed misdemeanors and the Feds will swoop in and take them off their hands, ignoring immigration problems in other states.

Gov. Brewer should call up the state militia and the reservers. Have the reservers train the militia and equip them with better guns than the drug smugglers have and also have them use night vision and whaterver else the militia might need to keep them from crossing the mexican bodar.

Obama dodged the issue by claiming that his administration fell down on the job.

You titled this, "ICE Official Says he will not enforce US Federal Law for Arizona Illegals". That's how you took John Morton's statement. I look upon his statement as saying that the department will stick to their priorities and in some ways it is no different than a judge saying he won't necessarily prosecute every speeder the cops hauls into his court.

My assumption is that I doubt ICE has the time, money and resources to process a stay-at-home mom illegally in the country with a husband and kids who are legal American citizens. You are welcome to yours that he didn't read the law.
