Trump Leads Clinton By 1 Point Going Into Debate — IBD/TIPP Poll

After more than a week of blistering attacks from Democrats, celebrities and the press, Donald Trump has managed to pull ahead of Hillary Clinton by a 1.3 percentage point margin — 41.3% to 40% — in a four-way matchup, according to the new IBD/TIPP poll released today.

And this poll was the most accurate of the 2012 election.

Well, Trumps performance in the debate last night will likely increase his lead over Hillary, a lead that should continue to grow till election day, but the Clintonistas will try their best to distract the public from her corruption, cronyism and commitment to providing returns for her corporate donors who have given her hundreds of millions of US dollars to run.

First of all, you're looking at IBD's two-way race poll. That's meaningless since it's a 4-way race. In the 4-way race, IBD has Hillary up by 2 in their latest poll and Hillary up by an average 0.6 overall.

But even looking at the 2-way race as you have done.

Obama won by 3.9 percentage points...

The average of the IBD polls favored Obama by 4.0 percentage points

The average of the IBD 2-way polls favors Hillary by 4.8 percentage points

Trumps low approvals comes mostly from areas that voted against him anyway and he never had their approval, really.

President Donald Trump, who has averaged 40% job approval since his inauguration, received approval ratings of 50% or higher in 17 states in the first half of 2017. Residents in an equal number of states gave him approval ratings below 40%. In 16 states, his ratings ranged between 40% and 49%.

And no matter how low into the 30's Trump may go in the approval polls, he is still over five times higher than Congress, the media and higher education.

More importantly, Trump retains control of the GOP masses, who still favor him at around 67%
