I was speaking to my insurance agent the other day about the rising cost of home insurance.

Home and car insurance being things that have contributed to inflation over the last few years. He explained the reason had multiple components. One was the rising cost of labor for those doing the repair work. One was the technology in cars making them enormously expensive to fix. And one was this.........

The increase in weather related events doing damage to cars and homes. Not that hailstorms are unusual here in CO during the summer. But nationally the frequency of weather related damage to property is increasing as the climate becomes more unstable due to man made climate change. A trend Dem's are trying to do something about. Repub's, not so much.
/----/ "A trend Dem's are trying to do something about. Repub's, not so much."
They had 4 years and did nothing, plus 8 years with Obozo and did even less.
Oh, but this time, they really, really, really mean it.

Not sure but probably by comparing historical averages of weather events and the correlation between their frequency/strength and rising global temperatures.
/----/ It depends on the political agenda of whomever is comparing historical averages.

They either correlate or they don't.
Correlate to what? The area of inhabited/used land has increased. How exactly do you compare year to year when the newer data includes significantly more data points across a vastly larger area? That is some disingenuous nonsense. Not to mention costs have increased exponentially since we dropped the gold standard. 'Historical' comparison is a farcical notion given the reality of the situation.

I can't answer that question without seeing the metrics of the comparison.

Have you checked in with Xi lately. Do you have a plan to stop China from building to lodge coal fire plants per week all over the world? I know you probably left him a voicemail but he'll He's not really good about getting back.

Here in Kansas I am shopping for new homeowners insurance to see if I can save any money.

Turns out nobody is writing new policies unless you replace your roof first.

No, it's not. The notion you can simply extrapolate to bring about parity across broad areas and non-linear growth patterns is ridiculous.
Lol. Are you pretending to be a statistician?

Too funny.

we see the lies and misinformation after every storm. Rather then admit that more people and more manmade structures were the reason for the supposed increase in damage the press and the idiots all claim it is because the storms are worse.

Nope, are you pretending you can compare incompatible data sets and get accurate results?
Strawman.

The data isn't incompatible.

Correlations can be drawn between global warming and frequency of storms given data historical data points.

Not sure why you think this isn't possible.

I can't speak to these unseen claims.

Did you have an example?

Yeah, we keep building houses in flood zones and fire zones and then wonder why insurance costs so much.

With rising sea levels, flood zones are getting larger and larger, too.

The West is experiencing more and more fires. Pretty soon, everything west of the Rockies will be cinders.

There isn't much water left to fight fires with.

LOL are you stupid? After every storm the press makes the claim that the damage is worse than ever before and all because of manmade weather changes.
So providing an example should be easy.

I simply want to see context.
