First up is a 1972 Colt Cobra with the factory installed hammer shroud.....It appears unfired.
Ruby used one sorta like it (earlier model) to kill Oswald.
Next-up is a minor "grail gun" for me.....A .45-70 bolt action made from a Siamese Mauser.
It was a very popular conversion back in the 50s/60s but they were never done commercially. They were all built by gunsmiths so the quality of the build was determined by the gunsmith's skill and his customer's wants.
This one wears a Lyman rear sight, sports a Timney trigger, and a nicely polished silky smooth bolt, a free floated barrel, in a black walnut stock. It's a brute at about 9#.
I had a Siamese Mauser to get the conversion work done but it would have cost more than a .45-70 lever action to get the work done....And that was 15 years ago!
