Not in my world. Rice sales climbed quite a bit and alcohol based hand sanitizing gel is still popular. Govt alcohol(basically a cane rum) production has been cut hard for them to produce hand sanitizer instead. People remain sane, but cautious. OTOH earthquakes and Black Fridays here are social events instead of war zones.
