I might finally get to see a specialist. It's been a very long time since I have been dealing with this.

I don't have to imagine. I spent the summer in and out of the hospital undergoing two bladder surgeries for a condition I have had for two years. Yesterday I had injections in my left eye thar should have been done a year ago.

I told the doctor that I was bewildered that all these medical issues are happening all at once. I just got here in March. He said it wasn't surprising. He finds these clusters of issues in those that come from third world countries or areas where medical care is limited. I'm from California. I last saw my doctors six months ago. That is exactly what he meant. Doctors too busy, seeing too many people to practice medicine. Shovel them in. Shovel them out. Collect the money.

Harbor General Hospital, county hospital in Torrance, CA has an ER where the wait is so long that there is an ER just for children and an ER just for gun shots, stabbings and heart attacks. A 36 hour ER wait is average.

it's called dystopia and it is here.
Sorry to hear that. You know it would be Karmic Justice for every person voting for Kamala Harris to have an hours long wait in the ER as dozens of illegals are treated before them.

Do you know that where the majority of doctors were conservative in years past......now the trend is 80% liberals in these positions. That's not good for any of us. We've seen the commercials from medical schools where the prime directive is social justice rather than health care for all...i mean COMPETENT health care for all. Some doctors, women specifically, have posted online that they have mistreated their conservative with false diagnoses and improper treatments. They post this online, idiots that they are. What is done about it? I don't know...i don't see any charges being brought.

The gov't is running off white males in the medical field. I don't call it profession. They target foreigners, women, foreign women, foreign males. THAT is who they want treating patients in the US... Those folk have no empathy for americans. And their training is juvenile to say the least.
Us medical schools are 300 times what medical schools offshore costs...and the foreign graduates score very high on the ECFMG. The key is their proficiency in English. Many come to the US for residency programs. You're ignorant as hell.

Dozens of illegals with sniffles, hang nails, headaches, and waiting for vaccinations. See, these villagers have no concept of seeing a doctor or an appointment. They go to the ER for everything. Urgent care clinics got started as a way to deal with walk ins not needing a hospital. Especially Hispanics won't use them. It's the hospital emergency room. Everyone suffers. Democrats should have to wait as they blead to death.

True. Using ERs for routine visits has been a problem since the early 1980s.

As I understand it, there is no "Canadian" healthcare system. They are provincial, and some are better than others, The provinces cannot manufacture doctors or force them to work where they don't want to work.

Most Americans have either employer-subsidized health insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare plus a supplement, all of which provide pretty good coverage. But if you walk in with no insurance and you checkbook, you could very well be bankrupted by the cost.
Yes. So there is no justification to cut medicare whatsoever.

I don't care if my doctor is female, male, gay or an alien. I don't care what their politics are or even if they hate America. I don't care.

I just care that they are competent and keep their Hippocratic Oath.
And THIS is why you have the system you have

insurance is the 1st thing admissions check DG

there is good insurance, and not so good insurance

all one needs know about American health care is, this is where the quality of it is decided

yes, and are seeking jobs w/out horrendous student loans, which means they'll take less $$$ here

This must be way Canadians have such worse health outcomes and shorter life expectancies than their American neighbors, right?

I remembervm6 mom trying to find reasonable care for my dad when he was sick. Disgusting. He passed on. I hold the nation redpinsuble.

Odd though, the ego of our system when I told the doctor, "if I don't get the help I need I'm just going to spend whatever I can muster to get help in the U.S".

She suggested that the Canadian system can perform the function and there was no need. I had to politely explain that though all I have experienced to date, I highly doubt it.

Imagine if the MRI results in the U.S, results here that were labelled as "contrast solution" when none was added in my case; actually showed a different image of my brain? I would not be livid, I would be concerned for the damage that might have been done in the interim delay.

Let me tell you, there is no real monetary value one can apply for proper treatment and competency where your health is concerned, especially when there may be a risk of serious health problems.
Here is what i have found.....2 significant health issues since 2021 and neither was picked up by my doctors. one a buddist, one christian/conservative, one likeable, young, views unknown. NOT ONE picked up on any symptoms, my concerns, THE LAB RESULTS, nothing..because when i was in the office, I looked and sounded healthy.. The only ones..the ONLY ones that saved my life, twice, was the emergency room doctor. Now i don't know the ER doc's politics, but i recognized that they at least listened to my concerns...and both times resulted in operations, both emergency operations., Now....if there is a serious issue they're going to send you back to your doctor. It might be a good idea for all of us to actually question our doctors..after all, we HIRE them and it is our money going to them even if the gov't claims they are paying them...how generous of them heh?? It is OUR money. The gov't doesn't make money...they steal it from us.

I had one nurse i know say to me.... it's pointless going to a GP....keep yourself healthy best you can and if there's a problem...go to the ER.

The problem is, I was forced to go to the ER twice a couple of years ago. Quite honestly I had to feel near death before I would go, that is how much I dislike hospitals in particular. This is especially true in Ontario when I might have to wait 10 hours to get in.
