I heard a knock on my door and I started having an anxiety attack

I was sitting home relaxing watching TV on Last night and all of a sudden at 8pm I hear a knock on my door. Now the reason for the rapid heartbeat was because I am single and live alone and not expecting no one. And when I ordered from Ubereats or Amazon no one knocks on my door.

So I am thinking its some tragic or bad news waiting on the other side of the door like something about a family member or the landlord telling me the building has been sold or someone telling me the building is on fire


It was a representative from another electric company trying to get me to switch over to their company. And then i was able to relax. But I was a nervous wreck

Competition lowers prices. Where I'm at, the electric company has a monopoly, and they're bribing politicians and raping us.

Even in areas with electric monopolies, gas sub-contract entities are out there trying to get you to lock in gas a certain rates which they all claim will be lower than most of the big suppliers, as their NG rates fluctuate. These outfits that promise to save you money lock in your rate, and promise lower cost by bulk buying once they have a contract.


I tried it once and ended up paying more than the local energy monopoly. In fact, it can be a scam, and some places these shady outfits will switch you w/o your consent if they can get your information.
