Depends what Kimmel's intent was when he continued the known lie that Robinson was a MAGA supporter. He knew it was a lie and did so because his cult told him to do it. His cult wants violent contention. Carr was well within his job calling to speak out against Kimmel and require him to admit his error. But, Kimmel did a very poor job doing so.
