I dont expect a potential wife to cook good and clean

Housekeeping duties are shared in most of todays america. Thats a good thing.

So, what do you do around the house currently, Mort?

I dont fix things and do home improvements either and im not a 'real man' like being a good 'handy man'

Nowadays its easy to do cooking cleaning etc and kitchen and housework for both genders equally

I'm a good cook, a terrible cleaner, and I can fix thing around the house because I worked for my dad on his handyman side business when i was a kid.

If I ever did get married again, someone who is good at cleaning would be a good fit for me.

One of the ideas of marriage is to combine strengths to cover for weaknesses.

Most wives clean because their idea of "clean" and their husband's idea of "clean" are miles apart, and they cannot stand to live in what they consider filthy conditions. In 52 years of my marriage, there have been countless times when my wife went on a cleaning binge to clean something that I thought was clean enough.

Most wives who cook do so because they do it better, quicker, and with less mess than occurs when their husbands do it. I have the impression that after the Boomers, fewer and fewer wives are "into" cooking, and a bunch of alternative strategies have developed to get food done...eating out, having food delivered, packaged food that only needs a few minutes in the oven or microwave.

The key to marriage is to make it like a business partnership. Make it matter of fact. Alot of separate hours and days.

Women clean and cook its in their genes.

if one person doesn't have a job, then they should be the one doing the majority of the housework.

if both have a job, then spilt it evenly.
