There are several ways in which I am late, I don't share them all.

But I am 74, I live just outside Portland, Maine. I am an intellectual, and Progressive.

I used to be a hiker and backpacker, and miss that like crazy.

After the cancer, I wasn't in a good place, so I got an ebike. I had lots of bikes before that, I've ridden my bike across Italy, from the Adriatic to the Med; Italy was great.

I am really into history, and that lead me to people that used economics to understand history better. Starting in the 1970s, stuffy old history came to life when nearly every discipline was brought to bear on history, from accounting to zoology.

I get kicked out of most forums because I do not suffer fools. Don't worry, Mods, I've been kicked out of better, and I don't take it personally.

I will talk about books, a fave is What Hath God Wrought, a pulitzer winning history of the era between the War of 1812 and the Civil War. I had written that era off as uninteresting, man was I ever wrong. It's terrific, and the best writing I have ever seen in a work of history.

Oh, you mean the actual definitions?
Yea, why bother with those. Lol
They were actual a century ago, language changes over time.

In any case, does it matter?

No, you regressives rape the meanings of words.
There are already words that describe your big govt crap. So you take decent terms and try and change the meaning to manipulate people.
This isnt a "cheap point". You made it a point to put it in your welcome thread.

Good to have another progressive on here. Not many of us. We are outnumbered.

BTW, there is no better forum than USMB.

Not how it works, languages change over time. The first modern dictionary was the Oxford, and they had to grapple with this, in the 1800s they decided usage determines meaning.

It's not fixed in stone.

My point stands. That is what you guys do.
You said you like history. So do I. Especially ancient history. But I remember reading about the NAZIs and how they did the same thing as you all do. Weird, huh?
All you leftists are the same. The only differences are trivial.

I heard Yall was something rich people used to say to each other. Then poor people started using it and rich people stopped.

I have read it came from slaves, and the south picked it up.
