I am getting radiation exposure at work

I am just in training only and many times the techs just blast the portable X ray without obeying by the 6 feet of safe distance.

The problem is sometimes I am caught in the room and they blast me .

I don’t have time to get 6 feet .

They often blast themselves all the time .

I spoke up and they tell me it’s not important and part of the job
Quit whining. Spiderman gained his powers by being bitten by a spider that had been exposed. Go find someone you trust and bite them. You'll be glad thar you did.

You are whining to the wrong people. We can't help you. Try dialing up an agency that gives a shit.

Funny if my intelligence increases and I learn a foreign language in a weekend or do hard math
That would, indeed be impressive. Especially so, with known affects of radiation on the human brain.

Got any blisters or burns? Loss of hair, loss of appetite, any urge to wear spider suits?

Do you wear a radiation exposure badge?

Try to find a different employer. Radiation poisoning does not go away and cancer is quite painful and expensive.

You know what I find real strange is on the border they drive cars and tractor trailers through an x-ray device, if suspected. Shooting through metal requires pretty decent levels of power. They have either border people or the vehicle owner drive through.

In nursing homes we have contracted techs come in with portable x-ray machines.

By nature of the machine, they stay in room 100% of the time.

Doesn’t seem to be an issue.

If there was any real risk, the company that employed them wouldn’t let them do it that way because they wouldn’t want to risk the liability and litigation
They are probably depending on having given a 6' safety buffer requirement. Not their fault if the techs don't obey.

They're responsible for compliance.
The techs themselves are responsible for compliance

The techs go from facility to facility by themselves to conduct x-rays. No one can possibly force them to comply if they choose not to

The company will get sued for their negligence if it came to that.
