How the NFL's dynamic kickoff works The kick: Only the kicker and the returner (s) can move before the ball hits the ground or touches a returner. No fair catches are allowed. The kick: Touchbacks in the end zone start five yards farther up the the field at the 30-yard line.

It gets tiresome. I mostly watch college football now, but a lot of PC is also there.

I'm American Indian, and can say that no one I know cared one iota about American Indian names as nicknames. I think there was a poll a few years back showing that 90% of American Indians did not care. It was mostly a vocal minority.

So I say bring back the nicknames, logos, mascots, and chants. Hey, we're also fans!

I have my first spidey sense tingling going on that there may be some fucking shenanigans going on in the NFL.

Although it isn’t yet close to being confirmed, I am beginning to wonder if some games are scripted. You know. Sort of like “pro” wrestling.

If so, it might fit in with the relatively new phenomenon of legal sports betting.

In the meanwhile, I’m still watching. And I always root for the Buffalo Bills.

But if I see any significant evidence of anything akin to baseball’s old Black Sox scandal, then I am perfectly ok with just tuning out the entire NFL.

I'm sure that, were you to notify the NFL and Roger Goodell and let them know that you are severely disappointed in their efforts to protect the immediate and long term health of the players, they would immediately change the rules to satisfy your desire to see injurious play and permanent disabilities in the players.

I kind of like it too, but if they want it to actually be used they need to make touchbacks start on the 35. Or even the 40. Otherwise, it looks like almost everyone is going to play it safe and kick it past the goal line.

The only way you can get a touchback (ball placed on the 25) now is if you pooch the ball, have it hit in front of the goal line and it goes into the end-zone.

If it goes into the end-zone on the fly the kicking team is "penalized" 5-yards and the ball is placed on the 30.

Or something like that.

Encouraging more run-backs is a good thing.

Sure, some teams may just opt to suck it up if they have a good defense but that extra five yards combined with a high-power offence and the FG kickers they have these days can get points on the board in a hurry.
