Repeat offenders can be jailed for 2 years for possession and huffing nitrous oxide. It is now a Class C drug under the Misuse of Drug Act 1971.
Tying the use of huffing NOS as a killer drug seems crazy as there isn't much data to prove this.
"Deaths typically occur due to secondary effects of using the gas, most commonly suffocation when the gas was used in confined spaces, for example in a car, or with a plastic bag over the head"

What is nitrous oxide and why is it being banned?
The government has made the possession of nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, a criminal offence.
