The economy is a house of cards. If the US ever defaulted - not pretend default - but a real one where they did not have the funds to redeem the T-bills, we will reap the havok we have sown. The reality is that there has been no real creation of wealth since the early 2000's. Our beloved government has been trying to inflate its way out of debt. They don't want low prices and they don't want you to save money. They want you to spend money. I don't think that is going to work. My company has had two rounds of layoffs. The first one had almost no impact to my department. The second one cut about 25%. That was about a year ago. We're still recruiting at the campuses, but we may have dialed back the numbers some. I'm not sure about experienced hires. Probably lightly, if at all.

If people are waiting for the government to save them they are in for a long wait. There is only one way to fix our problems, one person at a time and they better be fixing themselves.

Do you know why not everyone has recovered? When the cost of money is low - like it has been since the early 2000's - the cost of tangible items will inflate. Wages are not tangible items and have not inflated. So while the cost of everything has been rising, wages, have not. That's the reason for the so-called income gap.

Exactly. That's because when the cost of money is low the price of tangible items will inflate. If the cost of money were high, the price of tangible items would deflate. The very thing you are pointing to as a good sign is in reality a bad sign. It just proves that people are getting squeezed more. The price of homes will continue to inflate and wages will continue to stagnate. It will only get worse.

Well since there is not likely anyone I agree with 100% of the time, your premise is false. Secondly, truth is not a popularity contest. The proof will be in the pudding, not what you say or even most of the humans on the planet say. He is a populist president with a protectionist pledge. The outcome of which remains unresolved.
