Mexico's security secretary says 25 troops died after the military killed 'El Mencho' cartel boss
School was canceled in several Mexican states and local and foreign governments alike warned their citizens to stay inside following the army’s killing, and the violence it spurred.
Once a wild jungle populated by little native indian fellas who sacrificed children to the gods, Mexico was conquered by the Spanish and became one of three countries making up the continent of North America. Today, Mexico is populated by the descendants of those little native indian fellas, and they value human life about the same now as they did before the Spanish showed up. Perhaps the most effective way to consider Mexico today is to compare it to its other two fellow North American countries: America and Canada.
America is, of course, the greatest country on the face of the earth, in the entire history of humankind, in terms of economy, strength, and freedom. Any county would be extremely lucky to be our neighbor, as our scraps alone can sustain another country. If there is a God, then He surely favors the USA. Then, there is Canada. Canada is made up of Englishmen, Frenchmen, indians, moose, and possibly bigfoot. He is like your brother. You have to accept him, but he can be a real smarmy a-hole. For the most part, they are pretty similar to America.
Mexico, however, is a completely different story. As the above-cited news story states, there is warring between a cartel and Mexican military forces. In other words, there is an insurrection. It is not the anti-ICE insurrectiony sort of thing either. This is a REAL insurrection, with military grade munitions and hardware being deployed against the government. To some folks, this is a big deal. But to most, it is not because this kind of stuff is commonplace there. There has been a cartels vs. government rivalry going on for years there now. Cartel people deal with heat from the government by murdering politicians, or bribing and controlling politicians, police, and military. Cartels are mighty strong in Mexico; strong enough as a paramilitary force, and politically, that the Mexican federal government does not just send in forces to wipe them out. First of all, it is doubtful that a poor nation like Mexico has the forces and means to wipe them out. Second, the battles that would ensue would be costly in dollars and blood, and would destabilize society.
As a result, the Mexican federal government (who are not directly on the take) and the cartels have an uneasy truce. It reminds me of the film, "Fistful of Dollars", and the uneasy truce between the Baxters and the Rojos in San Miguel. As an aside, I am hoping that Trump will play the Clint Eastwood role in said movie and play one side against the other for profit. That would be magnificent!
Mexico today is just like the wild west. There is little law and order. Thieving and corruption is rampant. It is worse than being merely a Third World shit hole. Mexico is a Third World shit hole on steroids. It is like Haiti, but bigger and with more weapons. Imagine being America and Canada, living together, side by side, in the nice neighborhood that is North America. There's green grass, golf courses, breathtaking scenary, etc... It's a very nice place to live, and it says something about you and what you have achieved to get there. Sure, you do not really care for your gay neighbor, Canada, but as along as he sticks to himself and leaves you alone, you will be good neighbors. Then, some swarthy new neighbor named "Mexico" buys the home across the street from you and Canada. Mexico brings like 100 of his relatives with him to live in that house. There are parties and fights going on all day and night. The noise is terrible. From time to time someone gets shot and you and Canada have to call the police. While the police are there arresting people, you and Canada look over the fence at each other and shake your heads.
Clearly, Mexico does not belong in your neighborhood. At some point, you and Canada sit Mexico down and explain to him that you all share a nice neighborhood and that Mexico needs to try harder to fit into it. Mexico nods and says "Si senior!!", but it never gets any better. In fact, it gets worse. Then, Mexico starts running a meth manufacturing facility in its garage. At this point, when someone is shot and you call the police, the police do not even come. It's too dangerous even for them.
You go over to talk to Canada about what you are going to do about this. You tell Canada, "I think we are going to have to go over there and put a stop to this shit, dude". Canada's eyes grow wide, then he says, "Who's this 'we"? Mexico is closer to you than it is to me! If its anybody's problem, it is yours!" You then remember why you do not like Canada in the first place: He is a total *****. You call Canada a "f***ot", ***** slap him, then storm off. You know that there is only one way to fix this problem.
But, if you are Trump, you think: Yes, there is only one way to fix this problem. But, if I play my cards right, I can probably make some money from it too! For example, if this insurrection is not quickly put down, it is going to get messy. Ultimately, we can offer to go in there to "assist" Mexico in stomping the cartels ("assist" means that we will do all the work), in exchange for certain concessions. What does Mexico have that is valuable to us? They have oil and minerals. We can absolutely RAPE Mexico in exchange for some security guarantees! So we have to go down there and kill some cartel folks from time to time. Who cares. We will make this work for us by using Mexico as a military training ground. Special Ops training, bombing targets, etc... We will shift our training southward and repurpose current sites in the USA, where the value of the realty is much higher and, with this move, can be fully monetized!
