I keep hearing these numbers and frankly they are extremely difficult to believe. The Ukraine war reports are notorious for being overblown, exaggerated and biased. Having said that there's no question that Russia has paid an enormous price in dead soldiers for no really good reason at all. I can only assume that there is a growing discontent inside Russia against Putin.

There are plenty of independent sources, and they all more or less provide the same numbers. Moscow’s imperial forces are taking heavy losses; they’re turning on each other in ways reminiscent of 1917.
