Most Americans are brainwashed, so it is likely Jehova Witnesses are too.

Brainwashing involves forced behavior changes. Most people aren't forced to believe and behave a certain way. So, I don't believe most Americans are brainwashed. Looking at the story, the Tower of Babel, God took away the influence of one person who controlled the language of his time, Nimrod by confounding the language into many. They ended up congregating into tribes who spoke and understood the same language. Today, throughout the world, people are divided into tribal communities based on the language the understand depending on the subject as well as the language itself. Liberal hear what they understand. Conservatives hear what they understand. Jews hear what they want to understand. Christians hear what they want to understand. Occasionally, people are able to change their understanding and join with other groups or tribes. Even the greatest communicator of all time, Jesus Christ, was only able to convert a few out of the many. And, he did so without the threat of physical death or other means that brainwashing is associated with. He used logic and reasoning and taught this with parables. He also introduced another learning concept, the Holy Ghost and the Light of Christ. The Light of Christ, our conscience (if we have one) and the Holy Ghost, a separate member of the Godhead who can influence us by letting those of faith know the truth if they have real intent to know truth. Methods like shunning family and treating people with harshness or anger is a method of brainwashing. The JW's tend to do this. They also have no desire to mingle with other religious persons. They stay in their tribe. Mormons, on the other hand, are family oriented to the point of desiring close family relationships even with black sheep of the families. They welcome them in as they grow closer to the Lord. Even to the point of doing work for their dead ancestors.

Agree. Mormons are a cult, but harmless and do a lot of good works to benefit society. JWs are just plain nasty and evil.
