Getting rid of political opposition means, no Democracy."
All One-Party-Only governments (Theocracies, Marxist, Oligarchies, Military Juntas and despotic ones), without fail, become: authoritarian, persecutory, tyrannical and outright murderous to its own people who don't agree with their politics.
Always allow for opposition, but with a military that will step in, should a party that takes control and subverts the people's freedoms and right to choose.

It is a threat to democracy when one party strives to PREVENT THE PREFERRED CANDIDATE OF 70 MILLION PEOPLE from appearing on the ballot. They were petrified of having to defeat him DEMOCRATICALLY, so chose to try to do it in the courts and in Congress.

It is a threat to democracy when a "blockbuster" story about a major candidate is suppressed by THE FBI and THE U.S. JUSTICE DEPARTMENT, so that the said candidate will not be politically harmed. And the amazing thing was, the FBI and DoJ were theoretically working for the other guy, who was the sitting President.

How was Trump a threat to democracy? And if you say, "January 6th," you should go drown yourself in a toilet.
