I'm watching the Dodgers-Marlins game on MLB.tv and it dawned on me how umpires can stand out there for the entire game. Second base umpire Joe West is 65 years old, about as fat as I am and yet there he is for the entire game.

Hats off to the umps.

And then there's the occasional game that goes 16 innings... and a close play is crucial and they gotta get it right....
