The U.S. intelligence community in 2017 said Russia had interfered in the 2016 U.S. elections and sought to hurt Clinton, who was Trump's Democratic opponent, while trying to help Trump.

That Russia or anyone else would try to interfere is not surprising. But, was it Trump that caused it? THAT is the thing the Democrats tried to hang Trump with.
