Well..here's a guy who was smart enough to see through this deception..and thus probably saving his wife and child from harm.

I did find some amusement in the statement, "real cops don't wear ski masks'.
I wonder how that went down in Homeland Security circles?

Anyway, one for the good guys~

A late-night knock at the door turned deadly in Houston, Texas on Friday after gunfire broke out between a homeowner and two men in ski masks claiming to be cops.

Both men were killed in the shooting that happened around 11 p.m. in the southeast of the city, according to the Houston Police Department.

Police said the men told the homeowner they were serving a warrant. They were wearing bullet-proof vests, had badges around their necks and were wearing ski masks.

Lt. Amber Khan told KHOU that the homeowner “became suspicious, because, you know, they have a ring camera too, and the suspects were saying they had a warrant.”

“But it was just two people and they’re masked up and no police cars, no lights or anything like that,” she added.
The masked suspects then shot a barrage of bullets through the door, prompting the homeowner to return fire. Lt. Khan said the two men were pronounced dead at the scene, despite officers' CPR attempts.

The homeowner was not injured. His wife and child were also inside the home during the incident, but police say they were rattled.

Detective Kyle Stringer urged residents to know the signs of legitimate police presence.

He explained that real police officers do not wear ski masks.

Well, there's a good argument for cops not wearing masks, lol.

Two armed criminals wearing bullet proof vests against one homeowner.

I'm curious how the homeowner shot them. He must be one hell of a shot.

Thinking the homeowner went around back to front? Not sure who shot thru the door.

Bullets thru the door jamb look to be hi-power rounds. Curious who the dead guys are.

Yes....motive is the question. Seems a lot of prep for a random home invasion.
Shooting through the door screams hit..not robbery.
The homeowners response...shooting two armed and armored men...makes one wonder just where he learned those skills.

Thanks for introducing this incident.

I suspect that this sort of thing happens more frequently than commonly reported.

This sort of crime is especially devious because the victim is at a greater disadvantage than if the criminal were wearing civilian clothes.

When pulled over by an LEO, it is not one's first instinct to reach for a firearm.

Because of the frequency and serious nature of this sort of crime, I thin that late night raids by undercover LEOs should be prohibited.

I can think of few better ways to pull off a home invasion than to yell "Police!" while kicking in someone's front door.

Additionally, since more and more criminals are wearing body armor, I don't feel that it is unreasonable to keep either or both a shotgun or .44 Magnum nearby for criminals who wear body armor.

Finally, since I live in a rural area in which deer are frequently hit and seriously injured by vehicles, I tend to favor larger caliber handguns to better end the misery of a severely injured animal ( .45 acp, .44 Magnum, .44 Spl etc)

Your thoughts?

It's a better object lesson for Harris Co. criminals thinking of pretending to be cops. ;)

The fact they got dead-ed in the bargain is a better lesson yet.
Any criminal anywhere can do that.

And since ICE acts like criminals…….

I note that no mention of the homeowner's weapon was made.
I wonder if he unloaded an AK or something similar 🤔 on the dudes~

I think them talking is a these aren't police give away. The cartels have changed.

I assume that it was something other than a mouse gun unless both were head shots at close range.

The firearm may not have been mentioned to avoid "copycat" crimes.

Are you concerned about ever coming up against criminals with body armor?

Thanks,

Nope....I don't let fear..especially of low probability events, into my life.
