Household electricity bills have increased by 10% since Donald Trump re-entered the White House

The increases have largely been driven by the costs of updating and maintaining the power grid and other necessary infrastructure, particularly in the face of increasingly common severe weather events, according to experts on energy and computing who spoke with CNN.

But a new technological wave is also driving up electricity bills: The AI boom is boosting electricity demand and power resources as tech giants pour billions into what many believe is the biggest computing shift in decades. OpenAI and Broadcom announced a partnership just this week to design and develop 10 gigawatts of custom AI chips and systems, more than enough to power a major city.

That trend is only expected to continue. Data centers are projected to consume approximately 6.7% to 12% of US electricity in 2028, up from 4.4% in 2023, according to a December 2024 report from the Department of Energy. A Bloomberg News analysis found that areas near data centers saw an increase in electricity costs of as much as 267% compared to five years ago.

You are posting half-baked bs. That is NOT the debt contribution of policies they signed into law.

That is debt accumilation during their (1 term) of presidency, with Trump handing off trillions of deficit for FY2021 budget passed in 2020.

This clearly shows 10 year policy costs and breaks down pandemic related costs

Now if they were honest about projected spending from Biden's bullshit green energy, year his ten-year "debt approved" number would be $10 trillion.

The fact is, Biden added $8.5 trillion to the debt, with no recession.

How do you get a "ten year" debt from Trump's four year first term, Biden's four year term and Trump's less than one year second term? Since when has 4+4+1 added up to 10? Duh?
He's a blind man with an axe

Household electricity bills have already shot up nearly 10% since Trump took office, and a study by Climate Power and Energy Innovation warns they could climb even higher if his policies keep gutting clean energy.
When Trump takes money away from clean energy, it means fewer wind turbines, solar panels, and energy-saving programs get built. That makes us keep using more expensive old stuff, like coal and gas, which cost more to run when fuel prices go up. With less cheap clean energy in the mix, power companies have to charge you more for the electricity coming into your house...so your bill gets bigger.

10% is actually a bargain considering they rose 23% under President Potato Head. The 10% increase is partially due to the repeal of clean energy tax credits, pay your own fricken electricity bill.

All of those tentacles that government rules, laws, legislation and resources funneled is a pain in the ass to remove as it can affect prices at least temporarily and e use for propaganda y the other side. All of the inflation affected everything we do under Joe.

We were soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better off when Biden was spending $1 billion to build an EV Charging station!

My bill went from $100-120 under Trump first term to $200 plus under Biden but leftists are complaining about a 10% increase under Trump.

Instead of making shit up, just take the link I've provided, read the names of the bills they signed, see the the 10 year costs and bottom line.

If you think something is missed from that non-partisan analysis, THEN come back and post SPECIFICS, including credible cost estimates.

Be sure to CC CRFB too. :rolleyes-41:

Congress passed, President signed bills do not suddenly cease to exist when president leaves office.

You fools are not operating in reality.

It's not fact, it's just your partisan bullshit contradicted by simple accounting of Biden signed policy effects.

Biden clearly didn't "add" deficit contributing tax-cuts Trump signed in 2017, just he didn't "add" other policies that he didn't sign.

When are you going to grow up from your primitive tribalism to something resembling serious understanding of the facts?

And by the way, even if we just use dumb debt-accumilated-while-in-office numbers, then IT STILL doesn't in anyway support the original claim that there was some sort of spending explosion under Biden compared to Trump.

Yeah, Biden was a super budget hawk, obviously.

DURR

Non-partisan. LOL!

It's not fact,

It is.

Biden clearly didn't "add" deficit contributing tax-cuts Trump signed in 2017,

Biden could have raised taxes; he could have reduced spending.

Instead, he added more debt than Trump, with no recession.

If not for Mancin and Sinema, he would have added trillions more.

Thats right, you can't coherently explain what CRFB policy analisys missed.

And you know who here said anything even remote about Biden being a budget hawk?

YOU and only you.

Run along bullshit peddler.
