The research by the New America Foundation of Washington, D.C., found that since the Sept. 11 attacks, almost twice as many Americans were killed by white supremacists, anti-government fanatics and other non-Muslim extremists as by radical Muslims, according to the Times. Non-Muslim extremists killed 48 people, while jihadists slaughtered 26 individuals in this span of time.

The difference is Islamic terrorism is a world wide problem. There are multiple murders being committed every day in the name of Islam and have been for years and years.

There will never be an end to the boogeymen. You either:
1) Shred your liberty to pieces in desperation, live in a police state, and hide behind the curtains in fear, with a gas mask ready for the next terror alert.
2) Learn self-defense, buy a gun, and in general learn how to defend yourself and your family like the preppers.
3) Don't worry, and accept that you can't have a free society without risk, and that no matter how many Patriot Acts and Freedom Acts you pass, shredding liberties doesn't really bring security.
