Never thought this day would come!
Mallory and Irvine disappeared on Everest 100 years ago, leaving the world wondering if they had become the first to summit.
George Mallory's body was found preserved in the ice 75 years later in '99. I figured Irvine was buried deeper in the glacier, and would never reappear, but I'll be damned he's been found. They'll have to run DNA but it's just a formality now. They were the period correct hobnail boots, and his initials on his sock.

Now, it will be incredible if the camera is still in his vest. Kodak labs have said over the years that it's possible the film might still be able to be developed if it's found preserved in the ice. The story is, if they made it to the top, they would take pictures, and George was going to leave a photo of his wife on the summit. In '99 when they found George, the photo was not on him.

They were last seen from below through a scope confronting the 'Second Step' of the summit pyramid.

What an incredible story it would be if a photo proves they were first, 29 years before Hillary!

Exclusive: Remains of Andrew 'Sandy' Irvine believed to have been found on Everest

The discovery, made by a National Geographic team 100 years after the mountaineer vanished with George Mallory, could add new clues to one of the great unsolved adventure mysteries of all time.

Probably registered to vote in PA. Registered dem, already confirmed early voted.

I am not sure why, but sometimes it still shocks me that people are so tied to politics that they can twist any news story into their partisanship.

But, it does make me so fucking glad I am not you.

This story has fascinated me for decades now.

How a missing Kodak camera could FINALLY prove if Sandy Irvine and George Mallory were first to reach Everest summit
