Poor Obama; he can't seem to do anything right. Many Hispanics are upset because Obama has deported over 1 million illegals, more than any other administration.

Looking Ahead, Latino Voters See A Choice Between Disappointment And Menace

Kevin Solis, a third-generation Mexican-American from Los Angeles, describes himself as a "poster child for the Democratic Party." One of his uncles was a founder of the Brown Berets, an activist group that protested police brutality in L.A. and marched with Cesar Chavez, and his mother rarely said the word "Republican" without prefacing it with a swear.

So it says something about the depth of Solis' disappointment with President Obama that he is thinking of voting Republican in the next election.

As much as he loathes the harsh immigration policies and rhetoric espoused by many on the right, he is dismayed by the President's record on the economy and of all things, immigration.

And as a volunteer for groups that work with young undocumented immigrants, he says he has spoken to many young Latinos who share his ambivalence. "When I ask them about Obama, the first reaction is a sigh and an eye roll," he says. "And then they say, 'Well, I guess he’s got to be our next president.' "

As the long election season gets underway, many Latinos are expressing a sense of frustration with the choices ahead. On the one hand, President Obama has failed to enact the sweeping immigration reforms that he promised during his campaign, and unemployment among Latinos stands at nearly 12 percent, three points higher than the national average.

He's also deported more than a million illegal immigrants, a record number. "It infuriates us," said Solis. "The way you get to a million is by sending people back who maybe have a traffic citation."

That damn socialist marxist Obama; how dare he deport illegals.

Getting people pissed at his is a sign he is finally doing something right.

If they are not here legally kick em out.

Obama's Hispanic approval numbers were 65% when he took office. As of April 2011, he was at 54%. Your article doesn't say where his percentage is today. But it did say:

For the most part, Latinos remain solidly Democratic, said Marrero. "If you have a local candidate who's Republican and who's actually been good to Latinos and who's not gotten on the anti-immigrant train, you may get a good chunk of Latino votes –- 45, 50 percent," she said. "But it's never really reached beyond that."

It doesn't matter how upset Latinos are with Obama if the majority of them don't vote Republican. The illegal immigration debate has kind of ruined the GOP's chances with Latinos.

Tough shit for the illegals. And Washington isn't doing enough to ship them out of here.

Ike had it right....................
We need to do the following five things.

1. Build, and finish an effective barrier on the border before the end of time.
2. End all public benefits for illegals
3. Raid, prosecute, and seize the assets of business onwers who employ illegals.
4. Triple the number of immigration judges and the capacity of DHS to deport.
5. The start the debate about what can be done about the 11 million illegals who are here now.

There are two things that are quite amusing. The first is that a supposedly legal Hispanic immigrant is infuriated with the fact that illegals are being deported, and the second, that Obama has overseen the largest number of deportations of illegals yet the right tells us how Obama wants to keep as many illegals here as possible.

Of course!

That's why that Arizona law was such a pile. The bottleneck with deprting illegals lies with the immigration courts, they have a six month backlog. The only thing the AZ law did was make the waiting line longer. Bloodthirsty bogoted racist wife beaters like Russell Pierce R-AZ and Jan Brewer created that law at the request of ALEC and the GOP to slam Obama with. Never mind the fact that FBI stats show crime going down in Arizona from 2006 on. Never mind the fact that deportations have increased under Obama. Never mind the fact that Arizona got federal troops while CA, TX, and NM didn't.

Arizona law enforcement already had the capabilty of referring illegls to DHS under 287g. But that's a long story. I shouldn't get started

Obama answered, “We have redesigned our enforcement practices under the law to make sure that we’re focusing primarily on criminals, and so our deportation of criminals are up about 70 percent. Our deportation of non-criminals are down, and that’s because we want to focus our resources on those folks who are destructive to the community.

“And for a young person like that young woman that we just spoke to who’s going to school, doing all the right things, we want them to succeed," Obama said.

Obama is against deportations, I don't understand how the number can be up......

Yeap as are alot of people in this country OP.

To vote fro a republican would mean an even Worst situation.

This fact will NOT help the right with votes.

He says one thing and does another? sounds like a politician to me.

Anyway, Having a wife who is of Mexican decent, and Having a sister married to a Puerto Rican for over 35 years; I don't know any Hispanics who actually support Illegals...... Of course since Mrs. O's family has lived in the US since before it was the US, She's sort of more American than most of us.............

I lived in California for 3 years where alot of the Hispanics there have a parent or grandparents who came here illegally, so for them they tend to look at illegals as free Blacks used to look at runaway slaves a few hundred years ago. California is a sanctuary state for illegals, they get free college there.

They get free college here?....who told you that?....you mean any illegal alien can go to state college and get a free education? Man alive....I'm gonna get a good tan, dye my hair black, say no habla, and go get me a free degree!...thanks!

I have often wondered what the head of La Raza would do if he came home and my family and I had broken into there home and we were sitting in the living room and informed them that we like it in their house and were going to stay. I might also mention that he need to buy more food to feed us and one of the kids was sick could he take care of that when he had time.

I bet that would go over real big but that is exactly what the illegals are doing.

Jesus Christ, Ollie!!

You're married to a chicana, have a Puerto Rican brother-in-law and a black american like Gravity knows more about hispanics than you do... What a shame!!

If you "don't know any Hispanics who actually support Illegals" I can introduce you to thousands of hispanic-americans who live along the border (Nogales, Laredo, San Diego, El Paso, you name it...) who let illegals hide in their backyards when they are being chased by the border patrol.

To them the BP agents are the bad guys trying to arrest poor people who just want to make an honest living in the US.

We lived in Corpus Christi for about 2 years, While there I worked with about 30 people, I'd say 25 were Hispanic. More than likely all Mexican. This was 93-95 time frame. I don't remember anyone ever mentioning illegals. Although a couple of the guys would make fun of my Spanish on occasion....

I always laugh my ass off when people ask themselves what illegals and La Raza members would think if Americans invaded their... blah, blah, blah...

To most illegals and hispanic nationalists a mexican moving from Mexico to the Southwest is the same as moving from one mexican state to another, let's say, from Zacatecas to Jalisco.

The guys don't even think they live and work in american soil so good luck trying to convince them they're doing something wrong.

You're gonna need it.
