Don't have to be either.. Just be good people that judges books by their content and not by their covers whenever possible. Even so, one still can't just assume anything, but one can use caution whenever something doesn't seem right, and therefore it's ok to leave the book alone if uncomfortable about it or don't think that the book is anything profitable unto you. A genetic analysis of almost 900 offenders in Finland has revealed two genes associated with violent crime.

Those with the genes were 13 times more likely to have a history of repeated violent behaviour.

The authors of the study, published in the journal Molecular Psychiatry, external, said at least 5-10% of all violent crime in Finland could be attributed to individuals with these genotypes...

The study, which involved analysis of almost 900 criminals, is the first to have looked at the genetic make-up of so many violent criminals in this way.

Warrior gene​

Each criminal was given a profile based on their offences, categorising them into violent or non-violent. The association between genes and previous behaviour was strongest for the 78 who fitted the "extremely violent offender" profile.

This group had committed a total of 1,154 murders, manslaughters, attempted homicides or batteries. A replication group of 114 criminals had all committed at least one murder.

These all carried a low-activity version of the MAOA gene, which previous research has dubbed the "warrior gene" because of its link to aggressive behaviour.

Crime genes​

• The two genes associated with violent repeat offenders were the MAOA gene and a variant of cadherin 13 (CDH13)
• The MAOA gene codes for the enzyme monoamine oxidase A, which is important for controlling the amount of dopamine and serotonin in the brain
• CDH13 has previously been associated with substance abuse and ADHD
• Those classified as non-violent offenders did not have this genetic profile

Have to agree.... No such thing as a scientific explanation of why some people might do some thing's that other people won't. Human beings are in the beginning "beautiful little innocent children" until either their parent steers them wrong or other's outside the home steers them wrong.
Genes are great at determining the impacts of diseases and such, otherwise that pertains to the medical side of the equations.

I do agree that people have differences or weaknesses about themselves (i.e.followers or leaders), otherwise some can lean towards bad things if the enviroment surrounding them is overwhelming in that regard, so it's mostly caused by the environments that they are being raised in or the peers they encounter in their environment, and it can also be caused by the type of raising that they are getting in those environments.

Likes, taste, and things like these are unique characteristics that we as individuals receive at birth. They are given to each one of us by God our creator. God doesn't create criminals or killers at birth, otherwise all children are innocent yet born into an environment that could possibly affect one's character in a bad way if not carefully cared for by a solid family while growing up in this sinful world.

Have to agree.... No such thing as a scientific explanation of why some people might do some thing's that other people won't. Human beings are in the beginning "beautiful little innocent children" until either their parent steers them wrong or other's outside the home steers them wrong.

I was poor all my life growing up, and never did it make me commit a crime or become a criminal. We got by with what we had, and we never knew we were poor until we got around other people that looked at us as being poor. We had a great childhood being creative and active out door's with no internet BS, and no damned cell phone's. Life was good back then, and we never coveted our neighbors thing's, but if a neighbor asked us to go swimming, fishing, bicycle riding, tree fort building, and all sorts of things like that, then we were there. Had poor friends as kid's, and had middle class family oriented kids as friends also. No judgements, just a lot of fun and memories made.

If raised right, it doesn't matter if you're a rich kid or a poor kid you will most likely do the right thing in life. Of course their are always exceptions to the rule.
