My point is McCarthy, McConnell, a number of R's saw J6 for what it was. An unparalleled act of treachery and a violation of trump's oath of office. Words can not adequately describe his act of betrayal to the country. Then, all was forgiven. Not just by leadership but by the rubes. As if they erased the plot to steal the election and nullify the votes of 81M Americans from their collective memories.

The opportunity to rid ourselves from this malevolent narcissist was there for the taking. Then it was lost. Now we're paying the price.

I often wonder this about congressional Republicans in general.

Obviously, there is the shameless, craven element. But I also wonder if their safety has been threatened.

This is being run like a Mafia family. Those types of threats would be perfectly predictable and in character.

And if the GOP doesn't fall into any democrap traps between now and the midterms, it seems the GOP will gain a few seats in the house and senate. Then Trump doesn't have anything to worry about and can go for their jugulars. And what really makes me smile is that there is a great chance JD Vance will be in the WH for 8 years.
