My guess is Trump's great beautiful 2000 mile wall is going turn into and extension of the existing fence which looks a little like a wall. To bypass years of wrangling, and court cases over property rights and environmental problems and construction problems of building a wall in mountainous terrain and gorges, the great wall will become enhanced boarder security in these places. And in places where it's clear no wall is needed, Trump will simply pronounce it secure.

Trump could probably do something like this in 4 years if he can get some Democrats in the Senate to support it.

Even if the great beautiful wall is only a hundred miles long and in reality it's just a fence. Trump will declare it a tremendous success that has secured our southern boarder, blocking the hoards of millions of Mexicans pouring into the US. I expect when he leaves office he will declare there are no illegal immigrants in the country due to the tremendous success of his immigration policies. Then maybe we can tackle the real illegal immigration problems.
