It seems like every day Democrats and their cronies in the corrupt corporate media concoct a new, bogus “threat to democracy” that they use to intimidate Americans out of voting for their political opponents.
These “threats” aren’t just overused, they are overexaggerated in an effort to cover up Democrats’ hypocrisy, mask their incompetence, and justify the targeting of their ideological enemies. Meanwhile, it’s the blue party that’s working overtime to erode and replace the actual democratic processes responsible for keeping our nation running.

May I be serious for a moment? Democrats and Republicans have a VERY different view of the "best" manifestation of democracy.

Republicans believe that voting is serious business that should not be undertaken casually, flippantly, incidentally, or un-seriously. If Republicans had their way (though they would never admit it), applicants for voter registration would have to pass the very same written exam that applicants for naturalization must pass in order to gain U.S. citizenship. Voting should be done in only one of two ways: Either in person on Election Day, or by Absentee Ballots, which would entail positive identity verification, a signature, and a notary stamp.

In summary, Republicans would pre-qualify voters to ensure that they are at least competent human beings, capable of understanding not only the issues at stake in the election, but also the powers that the elected officials would have, if elected. Further, voters should understand clearly the respective powers of the Federal government vis a vis the States. If all voters were qualified according to those standards, we would have the best possible elections with the best possible results.

Democrats on the other hand want EVERYONE to vote, and they support every conceivable initiative that would qualify everyone, and get their votes even if means you have to go door-to-door contacting every single citizen and, if necessary, helping them to fill out their ballots. This would include canvassing homeless encampments, nursing homes, jails and prisons, as well as residences. The only grounds for disqualifying a voter or a ballot would be clear evidence of fraud or actual impossibility of discerning the intended vote.

Clearly, if the Republican ideal were implemented, no Democrat would ever win a national election again, and if the Democrat ideal were implemented, no Republican would ever win.

To illustrate the significance of this distinction, a famous Pennsylvania Republican, Mike Turzai - Speaker of the State House of Representatives - once basically committed political suicide by opining that by passing a Voter ID requirement in Pennsylvania, the Republican legislature could guarantee Republican victories for the foreseeable future. (The voter ID requirement was voided).

So when someone speaks of a "threat to democracy" you need to know whether they are a Democrat or a Republican; it means two completely different things.
