Help me understand what I’m reading?

I’m reading here https://finance.yahoo.com/news/25-countries-highest-inflation-world-200709169.html

Countries with high inflation.

QUOTE Zimbabwe ranks number one on our list of countries with the highest inflation in the world. The inflation rate did decrease to 561% in 2024; however, according to IMF predictions, it is still expected to stay above 400% until 2029. QUOTE

What causes inflation to go down? I thought that is deflation?

QUOTEThe country has been heavily sanctioned by the US, the European Union, and the IMF, which is considered to be one of the reasons behind its hyperinflation.QUOTE

Why is it heavily sanctioned?

I am not sure the EU still sanctions them but typical third world dictator human rights abuses, corruption, etc etc.

Waste of time .
Concentrate on the fact that the US is about to become bankrupt and isolated with no Federal Reserve and no Petro Dollar .
Ask yourself how you will obtain what is needed to live well and where you will best prosper .
Unless you are very wealthy and truly independent it is unlikely that you should look at Europe or north America for longer than five seconds .
But only imho .
