Hegseth.....the military won't follow illegal orders.

You think they're comparable situations?

Pretty much, yeah. Hegseth noted they won't while Democrats reminded them they didn't have to.

Mostly much ado about nothing all around.

IT ALL ABOUT THE AUDIENCE DUMBOS.

Pete was addressing OFFICERS ONLY, who know what an illegal order is.

The stupid democrats were addressing everyone, most of whom DO NOT KNOW WHAT ORDERS ARE ILLEGAL

Pete added clarity, democrats added dangerous confusion.

Really? He was a sitting member congress, with several other sitting members of congress. speaking directly to soldiers in the field?

Like Democrats, just noting the obvious.

Political grandstanding.

I wish we could prosecute politicians for that but we cant.

We can if they break the law, and there is a very good argument that they did, and Hegseth's talk to the conservative group didn't.

It comes down to intent.

Pete Hegseth:

“If you’re doing something that is just completely unlawful and ruthless, then there is a consequence for that....There’s a standard, there’s an ethos, there’s a belief, that we are above […] so many things our enemies or others would do....that’s why the military said it won’t follow unlawful orders from their commander-in-chief.”

Ordering to kill people hanging on for their lives to floating remains of a ship is of course completely unlawful and ruthless under all conventions of engagement.

Time to live up to your words Pete.

When did that happen?
