I did my churching yesterday evening at the Easter Vigil service at my RC Church. It was a very moving experience, highlighting the theological truths upon which our Church rests.

I blush to admit, I took an hour this morning and went to my gym. On Easter. What a jag-off I am.

I was Confirmed a year ago on that Blessed night. The most amazing experience of my life!

He who would be first will be last - Jesus (English Translation)

Jesus made the statement “many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first” (Matthew 19:30) in the context of His encounter with the rich young ruler (Matthew 19:16–30). After the young man turned away from Jesus, unable to give up his great wealth (verse 22), Jesus’ disciples asked the Lord what reward they would have in heaven, since they had given up everything to follow Him (verses 27–30). Jesus promised them “a hundred times as much,” plus eternal life (verse 29). Then He said, “But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first” (verse 30).

That may be so, but few of us actually achieve such status,

I was baptized into the Catholic church on Easter Sunday, 38 years ago. Full immersion and as I sometimes do when I'm nervous, I got the giggles. Not a good thing when you're under water. I came up spitting, sputtering and choking and still laughing like an idiot, wanting to shout it to the world.

Best memory ever that continues to live on in me.

Thanks for sharing that. A good laugh.

As I stood to walk up to be Confirmed, my sponsor must have read my mind, because I almost passed out, and he reached out and grabbed my hand to steady me for the walk.
