Have you ever mourned the death of a celebrity?

I did twice that I can recall. Once when Henry "Hank" Aaron (the TRUE baseball homerun king) passed. Also when my favorite writer, Ray Bradbury died.
I mourned the death of Bob Hope.

There are other celebs that I enjoyed and loved to watch as they acted and told a story.

But not recently.

I sincerely mourned the death of Rush Limbaugh, one of the most sane voices/influences this nation has ever had. And I am mourning the death of Charlie Kirk for the same reason.

I didn't agree with either one on every issue or approach to things, but I appreciated their love for America and Americans and their common sense even when I thought they were wrong. I've missed Rush terribly. I will miss Charlie terribly.

Queen Elizabeth II maybe though I am not sure why other than she was queen since long before I was born.

I don't generally mourn people I don't know personally... Usually I just say, "Ah ****" and move on...

That being said, Jimmy Buffett might have come the closest to being mourned by me. He got two or three "AH *****."

Sammy Davis Jr and Jackie Gleason oh and Don Rickles
Don RIckles is dead?

OOOOO NOOOOOOO

Just kidding

Bing Crosby.

Christmas hasn't been the same since he passed.

In my opinion, the loss of your favorite celebrity can be harder than losing a person in your family depending on how much each person means to you. No matter how you are connected to a person who is no longer here, if they mean enough to you, do you ever really stop mourning for them? I don't think so. You may be able to move forward with time, but I don't believe that the feeling of loss ever really goes away completely. Besides those in my family, my celebrity losses are the following.

Steve Sanders of the Oak Ridge Boys (June 10, 1998)
Northern Calloway from the Sesame Street children's show (January 9, 1990)
Billy Joe Royal (October 6, 2015)
Toby Keith (February 5, 2024)
Hal Ketchum (November 23, 2020)
Joe Diffie (March 29, 2020)

God bless you and their families always!!!

Holly (a day one fan of Hal)
