This is not about the pros or cons of the Trump presidency. Rather, it is about the effects of Trump's seemingly outlandish behavior on the opposing party.

Whether by accident or design, President Trump's public persona has resulted in an unprecedented attempt by House Democrats to impeach him from the day after his election. Concurrently, that party has moved so far to the left that most of its 2020 presidential contenders are considered to be unelectable (and unable to replace him.)

Is this an accidental paradox, or the result of a deliberate strategy by President Trump to cause self-destructive overreactions by his opponents? It is almost as if The Apprentice is being replayed on the national stage and the Democrats keep getting fired.

What say you?

No...He has revealed how truly crazy and unhinged that they are.

That may be true with respect to Trump personally, but Democrats are usually more adept at political calculations than are Republicans. I fully expect them to regroup after President Trump leaves office and present more electable candidates to the public.

They've only appeared more adept because republicans always capitulated on cue....Trump blew up that model.....They have no other ammo after the recriminations and defamation fail to achieve the desired results.

They are, when you drill deeper than the surface, really unhinged kooks.

This national mental health disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome has inflicted a sizeable portion of our population. However, I am sure that the demographics afflicted by the disease were already sick.

I do get the feeling that Nancy and Joe are being propped up a la Weekend at Bernie's, but the people running the DNC are not stupid (except for server passwords). Once the TDS fever has passed, cooler (and younger) heads will prevail.

It was a short drive.

I say Rump has driven the Dems, the Reps, the Indies, the Greens, the Libertarians and the nonpoliical crazy.

That's what happens when a wanker walks around denying the existence of Reality. Reality is the one thing we can all agree on --- when an outlier waddles in claiming the Bronx is a very wonderful place in Germany, and he's got a bevy of wankers not willing to call him on it, then Reality no longer exists.

No.

And by the way- just pointing out- Trump has not actually fired any of his appointees himself- he lets them know by tweet or press release.

No, they have always been crazy. What Trump did was get the democrats to act crazy where the public can see it.....

You missed that by a mile.

It’s the lunatic youngsters a la AOCs squad of radical socialists to whom Botox Nance has bent and lifted her buttocks to in appeasement for lo these many months now who aren’t interested in either the old hag or the rest of her DC dimocrat establishment stooges, and ditto for those of the DNC. The youngsters know candidate Hildebeast and her DNC cohorts conspired against Batshit Bernie’s shot at the Crackpot in Chief brass ring, and they’re not likely to see any need to cozy up to that cesspool.

The consequences of the Frisco Madame’s failed House leadership will be fun to follow through the election and beyond.

I don't think AOC's squad of four represents the majority of Democrats. However the shock of Trump's election has not yet worn off, and the Dems are desperate to tap into this psychosis while it lasts.

For example, many of their current positions are more anti-Trump reactions than serious policy proposals. (If Trump supported Medicare for All, the Dems would unanimously oppose it.)

The danger is that if Trump is not reelected, the crazies would take this as a mandate to impose an authoritarian One Party State on our country.
