Most people can't afford their medical bills when they have to deal with a serious expense, and private insurance can also deny you coverage whenever they feel like it. About 60% of America lives paycheck to paycheck, so telling people to go to hell essentially, isn't the answer. There's no such thing as a "National Debt" in the sense of household debt, so you're quite ignorant.

"Most people" are self responsible and make sure they are hardworking and have set up their family to be taken care of. My private insurance has always worked with me for a number of conditions to make sure I received timely and great treatment. Not everyone in society is born into the same situation or under the same circumstances as you, with the same potential. In order for society to function, we should establish a basic standard for all of us, a foundation upon which everyone can build that good and responsible (responsive, creative) life that you're defending and value. Every member of society should be afforded rights, that allow them to actualize their fullest potential whatever that might be, and become productive, contributing assets to their community and country.

I and other American socialists, propose that we provide all Americans with a bill of economic rights, which ensures that every citizen and legal resident has a right to food, housing, healthcare, an education, and gainful employment in the public sector.
