Happy Thanksgiving

I get an hour of waking up before I have to get the 2nd turkey in the oven along with the ham started in the portable roaster.

I was up till 1am last night doing all the baking.
Construction crew nearby hit our water main....whole city was without water for most of yesterday. Spent most of the day cleaning until we got water. Got a few jugs of water and I was able to start before the water turned back on. Uggghhhhh.

But the rolls, breads, pies, and one turkey are proofed, baked or roasted. Honey butter and honey cinnamon butter whipped too.

Cold front came in yesterday so it's finally chilly today.

Christmas trees are up and dining room and parlor decorated. Tables are dressed.

So today ought to be easy. Roast turkey, baked ham.... Just a gallon of giblet gravy and a quart of cream whipped for pies. I can do that standing on my head.

My body is angry though....I'll need to give it some ibuprofen, naproxium sodium, paramecitol, and peach brandy for it to behave. Drugs, alcohol, and family....what could go wrong?

Happy Thanksgiving.

How do you come together as a nation in thanksgiving when the powers-that-be continue to polarize and divide us into warring factions?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Easy....so very easy.
It requires a lowering of hubris to recognize that division is a politicians whole goal in life. And recognizing that your family actually knows you and really loves you despite all our individual flaws. That's one thing family is all about.

That's truth.

My brother is ALWAYS my brother. I can be angry with my brother for all his stupid, selfish crap but he is still my brother. He may not be the family I want, but he is the family I got. I must keep him whether I want to or not. Cannot replace him. No one else wants the job.

Say “no thanks” to oligarchy and self-serving, pay-to-play politics. A pay-to-play culture now permeates the highest levels of government, dominated by a mindset that money—not law—defines the boundaries of power. America is being bought and sold by corporate elites and political cronies. “We the People” have been pushed into a permanent underclass, ruled by a political machine that monetizes every aspect of governance—surveillance, policing, incarceration, immigration enforcement, even war itself. Our elected officials increasingly represent the interests of the wealthy and well-connected rather than the rights and needs of the citizenry. This is oligarchy masquerading as representative government.

So, change Thanksgiving to No Thanks in opposition to a government gone wrong.

If you don't mind....
I'm still going to primarily thank my Creator for the providence and blessings He has provided me and my family this past year.

As that is the focus of Thanksgiving for me and my house. It's not politically charged or related. It's a gratitude focused Holiday.

The wonderful day.....er I mean the terrible Barney tragedy on Thankgiving during the Thangsgiving/Christmas Parade in NYC.

Why am I not going to your house for Thanksgiving dinner? You literally have your own restaurant. All you got to do is charge admission.

Hey man, Barney was my childhood. I had my own Barney stuffed animal when I was around three or four. 😊

I have NO IDEA WHY YOU ARE NOT?
I'm blaming you for this one. You know know you are always welcome. (But I might catch up on some spankings you have earned over the years after dinner....if I'm not busy taking a nap)

Every punch bowl doesn't need a turd.

Proclamation from President:

Here in the USA (so all the spam bots know) next week on Thursday we will celebrate Thanksgiving.

Not Thanks to the Indians but to our Creator God and His Agent of Creation Jesus.

It's the most traveled holiday of the year. Meaning more people travel for this holiday than any other holiday. Everyone seeks a hearth and Family to have a sense of home. Vehicle breakdowns, flat tires, overcrowded airports, and jammed highways and grocery stores are the norm starting on Wednesday.

Many will engage in the customary sibling rivalry and old in Family fights. Alcohol only helps loosen tongues to insult and belittle other family members to the point of insanity. Often causing the chief cook to forget the cranberry sauce or Turkey for some insane reason and it will end up burned and dry or left off the buffet entirely.

And in all of this Family love....many people will catch either influenza or Covid. (Someone always will feel the compulsion to attend even if they have a sniffle)

So....

I end this OP with a recording of our initial failures and final success read and explained by Rush Limbaugh (now deceased) as he explains our history as few ever could.

All of this to encourage people
BE DIFFERENT THIS YEAR.

Happy Thanksgiving despite your racist tone towards native Americans. Not appropriate , especially on this day.

A copy of the original Presidential decree.
(The "f"'s are actually the old way of making the letter "s").....just saying.
