Trump is wise to focus on S Korea, Taiwan and Japan specifically. Hard working people who America needs to be closer with to maintain their systems are free and having good relations and I would argue immigration levels between nations. They are wisely looking to secure the automotive supply chain in the U.S, they don't want China to become the race to the bottom so they are trying to cut them out as best they can.

I grew up respecting the hard work ethic of the Japanese in particular, thanks to Americas help, they helped turn Japans economy into the great post-WWII miracle, As I had the same work ethic it was easy to respect. Unfortunately of course, police states that operate on nepotism don't reward such citizens but thats been Canadas loss as our sharp decline can attest.

Trump is offering incentives to companies that manufacture their products here.

It's a win/win for them and the American worker/economy.

Trump is using old fashioned Capitalism not government subsidies like Obama and Biden.

I don't see this as government picking winners and losers at all. He placed a tariff, companies decide to avoid paying this tariff by investing in America jobs and cutting out the offshore supply China (China, Vietnam etc).

America needs to be closer to Japanese and S Korea companies. This has always been my hope for Canada but these agencies know our police state better than Canadians do. In fact, I had a S Korean police officer tell me as much online years ago and he didn't know about my circumstances, it was quite fitting really.
