I live in Naples Fla, you know, I am really concerned that when 3 million more people move to Miami in the next ten years, it will cause all three counties that make up south florida to collapse into the atlantic taking Naples with it.

Think about all the subterranean pressures that we are relieving through the extraction of hydrocarbons. Their molecular makeup isn't destroyed, but merely transferred through combustion and manipulation - above and on top of the earth's surface. Add to that the increase in population, housing, industrial complex, infrastructure, waste streams... all that shit weighs a lot.

A real concern is that the 3 million will continue to lower the water table and the sink hole problems become more frequent. It might then be possible to sell Florida as a package deal - retirement and burial in one low price.
