That's ridiculous, since Hamas has continually been voted in almost unanimously.
The sympathy for the Palestinians comes from the fact they are illegally prevented from their right to have commerce with the rest of the world.
Half the Palestinians are prevented from even accessing their own land.
There are only 6 million Jews in Israel/Palestine, but 12 million Moslems.
So how can Israel be a "Jewish" state?
And in fact, any religious state is inherently illegal.

Have you ever been to the Middle East? I have. I've seen the level of brainwashing there. I went with someone I knew who spent a lot of time there, and we ended up drinking with some friends of hers, one was a primary school teacher who advocated people killing other people they didn't like.

Hamas get re-elected because they pump out the message that all the problems the people have are due to Israel. It's clearly not true, the problems are more to do with Hamas, but people don't get to hear a message of "let's work with Israel" because it doesn't exist, so they don't know it.

If Palestine worked with Israel, tried to live in peace with them, then Palestine would function. As it is Hamas keep up their warring and Israel will react to that.

In actual fact, this conflict has nothing to do with religion, neither Islam nor Judaism.

Arab leaders, from religious to secular, have been using this issue to grab for power since before Israel was founded.

That is true, but the point is Israel has stolen 85% of Palestine, leaving ten million natives homeless and without their land to farm for survival.
This can not be allowed, and is a valid reason to act against Israel.
