They sent me an "Account Activation Code" number.in the mail. I popped it in, and it worked. So now I'm authenticated, as they call it. It even said I would be getting my next SS deposit on May 2.

That may happen, but it certainly won't be unique to this administration.

During "telework," Social Security recipients found it effectively impossible to get their calls answered or their concerns addressed online.

One thing I learned dealing with the VA for college benefits is be ready to pay up front, because the are not in the business of getting you your money in a timely manner. The absolutely do not care about you rent. That was back in the early 80's.
