The Woodstock Music Festival was originally supposed to be in Woodstock NY. But the site approval fell through and Max Yasgur offered his farm in Bethel which was about 40 miles away

Since all the promotional material said Woodstock, they kept the name

Had about a dozen young guys working for me, listening to headbanger music. I brought up something about Woodstock and none of them new what I was talking about.

We were traveling near there when I was a kid. Miles from the farm. There were vehicles parked all along the sides of the road, hippies walking to the farm.
