Obama's Fast and Furious did cost some American lives, and hundreds of Mexican lives, so don't pin this one on law abiding American citizens. The fighter jet is a matter of conveyance, but the weapons carried (a M61 vulcan and AAM's) are considered crew weapons and artillery respectively, and are thus not arms as per the 2nd amendment. A howitzer is also artillery, and as such is not "arms."

Its the concept of an arm from the setup of militas at the time. Each milita member was expected to provide his own long firearm, and maybe a pike (they were still kind of in use at the time). Handguns were optional equipment, but usually required for the officers, as well as maybe a sword.
