Riiiiiggght. The same day Fox announces a $20 million settlement, Van Susteren just leaves the shop after what, 17 years or so? Sure. It's just a coincidence she leaves her lifelong career and burns that bridge the same day. You realize it's more bizarre to believe it's a coincidence than it is something Greta has a grudge about?

Fox settled the law suit with carlson and appoligized to her. So my guess is greta left because its now evident that there was foul play invovled.

Hmm.. Could be. The timing is right for sure. But if Ailes/Fox settled and Fox apologized, what would Greta's beef be? Surely she knew long before this that the allegations were true or false. Was she angry that 20 million wasn't enough for Carlson's settlement? Maybe she offered to testify on behalf of Carlson and they canned her or forced her to walk?

Apparently 20 million was enough.......oh, and an apology.

They told her she had to wear a Burka if she wanted her raise and she told them no... ( I am speculating on this one )

What I actually read it has to do with her negotiations with Fox and Roger Ailes leaving. What I have read she had Sixty Days to either stay or leave and her choice was to leave but she believed she would have time to close out her time on the show but Rupert Murdoch did not give her that chance.

Wow the misogynists are really coming out of the closet here at USMB. From the cult of LGBT telling women "screw you, men are going to use your showers no matter how you feel about it" to the other posters saying Greta was fired because she's ugly. I'll tell you what is really ugly: men and women professing to be in support of women's struggles as they bash the shit out of women.

Greta for her age was looking fine. It's just that once women in media turn a certain age (a couple of other gals at Fox are on deck for this one), they are no longer valued as their skin starts to sag or they get a little poochy. Greta wasn't poochy at all and she always appeared fine to deliver the news. Fox's credibility would go up a bit if they hired women that most women look like anyway; skilled and professional at delivering news. Or at least let women dress more conservatively. Oh but the RATINGS!... Peddling soft porn by the way they require their women to dress, wear wigs, makeup and 6" stilettos with mini skirts is preposterous. And given what just happened with Gretchen, they might want to clean up their act a bit.
