He seemed to have a far bigger impact on the youth than I knew.

Thing is Kirk was more complex that he was made out...

He was conservative but wasn't as MAGA as MAGA wanted and he was defiantly not going to tow the pro-Isreal line blindly...

MAGA looks like it will eventually implode on itself . There is no ideology they can't even say what time US was great for to be great again...

But Kirk seemed to have what it takes to not get over committed to MAGA... Used his support of youth as reason not to go all in... It showed self awareness and gives an option to soften later...
This is hard when surrounded by people who have drunk the Kool aid and don't think of consequences..

Kirk wasn't perfect and wouldn't hold him up as some sort of Icon... Even Trump wanted to talk about construction Trucks rather than his death...

But he was a Conservative that showed up on Campus, like Mayor Pete on Fox or Bernie in West Virgina... And they have followings in areas you wouldn't expect either..
