It's definitely a difficult balancing act. On one hand, any leader in that position has to ensure immediate economic stability for their citizens, which often means keeping existing supply chains alive. On the other hand, your point about the 'geopolitical premium' is the reality that many governments are trying to escape. The question remains: how much 'decoupling' is possible without causing a domestic economic shock?
